Entering the canyon to begin our journey, we saw all the major news stations in the area had sent their news vans. Later we discovered that a park ranger has been killed on a hiking trail. Our prayers are with his family and friends. On a lighter note, my brother-in-law and I spent 3 days in the backcountry. We had the mountain all to ourselves and not see another soul for three days.
